September 18th through October 12th
Jeremy Caniglia received his BFA in drawing, painting and printmaking from Iowa State University in 1993. He then received his Masters of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland in 1995. Caniglia's paintings recall works by the Old Masters, but with a modern twist. He does not meet the usual public perception of your basic artist. His bold imagery and contemporary figurative painting style have made him an anomaly in today’s art world.
Caniglia's work is in private collections around the world. His art is published worldwide on a regular basis and he has contributed to both joint and solo fine art exhibitions at numerous museums and galleries.
From his artist statement: Awaken refers to that moment when our state of being is conscious and awake. The artwork in this show encapsulates a modern contemporary vision seeking the riddle of flesh and its many states of consciousness. The human condition like the butterfly goes through many phases and transitions of awakening.
Please join us in the gallery for an Artist's Reception on Friday, September 18th from 7pm to 10pm. Jeremy Caniglia will also lead a Gallery Talk about the exhibit on Tuesday, September 29th at 6pm. Both the exhibit and the gallery talk are free and open to the public.
